Howzit Guys,

So Thursday evening I arrived home from Johannesburg after a business trip. I headed down to my Garage and started unpacking my Gear. At this stage the adrenaline and excitement was pumping through my body as this was my first comp in about 5-6 years since leaving for Cyprus. After rigging up my rods and arranging my Tackle it was off to bed.

The following morning I woke up and gathered a few last items for the trip. I arrived at my partners house just after 3 pm. We quickly packed the Bakkie, collected the Boat and we were off to Ronderberg Resort.

The trip up was absolutely epic. Not only because I got to catch up with my good friend Ryan Raffles but also being able to take in the beautiful surroundings which brought back so many good memories as well as, made me realise what a beautiful country we live in.

We arrived at the Ronderberg resort around 7:30 pm. I met up with all the guys and had an opportunity to met some new faces which was very cool. After our briefing and discussions the guys headed off to there chalets and braais.

Day 1:

We got off to an early start with boats getting their 5 fish fairly quickly. Most guys caught Fish on Spinnerbaits, Top Waters and Swim Jigs. Myself and Ryan manage to get 6 quick fish on a Jnr Super Spook which was a fantastic welcome home present. Couldn't have asked for anything better.
Team Berkley Havoc finished first on day 1 weighing in a solid bag of 7.72 kgs. James and Nic caught most of their fish on shallow rocky and grass banks fishing Spinnerbaits and Swim Jigs. Team Nagel and Barnard landed the biggest fish on day 1. Smallie of 2.05kgs which was landed on a Buzzbait.

Day 2:

Day 2's pattern changed a bit as many guys couldn't find that top water strike like we had on the first day. Team Bassfishing.co.za managed a few fish on a Buzzbait. The bites slowed down until about 1 pm when the wind picked up. Team Berkley Havoc managed to cull there bag in the last 90 min. Pitching Fighting Frogs and Havoc Pitt Boss's in shallow grass banks which gave them first place again weighing in a bag of 6.11 kgs.
I managed to land the Big fish of the day. 1.78 kg Largie fishing a 4 inch Yamoto Senko (Greenpumpkin red) 8 lb line.

Thanks to all the guys for the support and a fantastic weekend. Also a big thank you to our sponsors, without you this weekend couldn't have happened:
