I personally dont think it should be legal and if things carry on like this. One will not require any skills to catch fish in the near future.

Plain and simple this should not be allowed. Just don't know how it will be policed.

So the rumours are true...

Is BaitCloud legal for fishing tournaments?

It is the responsibility of each angler to clear the use of attractants for each Tournament venue and rules, so make sure you have the approval from the Tournament director prior to your use of BaitCloud in an event. Because BaitCloud does not incorporate any “fish products,” fish oils, or chum, it does not come in conflict with most Tournament rules. Many Tournament organizations avoid publishing a list of “approved” products to avoid the appearance of endorsement. As of this writing, we know of no organizations that have banned BaitCloud from its application and use during Tournaments. Again; check with your Tournament director for approval prior to use to insure you are legal using BaitCloud during your event.

I think it is more the visual effect that attracts the fish. Bass like all predatory fish are curious by nature. the fish in the promo are checking this unusual occurrence out, they are not even trying to eat the stuff. I reckon one could throw any fizzy tablet in the water and it would have the same effect, the only difference is that these balls are bigger and fizz for a much longer period. My 2c worth

For example - "rules" allow for having 3 major bass tournaments on South Africa's prime smallmouth bass dam during the annual spawn, within a short space of time - "ethics" say that this is wrong! So tell me, which one wins in the end? I think we know the answer!

I would agree to this statement except for the dismal fishing that was seen at Nationals ... it was definately not spawn yet if I look at the numbers of fish that came out with 50 top anglers on the water.

From some reports it appears that not much has changed. I think the locals caused more damage during low dam levels that what the catch and release brigade do.

But saying that I am all for shutdowns during spawn.
