This is the comp to replace the one we lost at Applethwaite.
It will be a one day comp.
Jan has kindly made his camp site along the Breede river available to us again.
The last Breede KBT was in the same spot and it was a great weekend with some challenging fishing but still some good smallies and a 2kg+ largie weighed in.

Comp date: Saturday 27 February 2016. Sunday you can do what you want.
Location: Robertson area – if you don’t know where the camp site is send me a pm/sms/whatsapp and I will send you directions.

Its the usual R200 for the KBT entry.
Camping is R80 per person for the weekend (Friday and Saturday night) payable on the weekend.

You will be driving through farm land on your way to the camp site, please drive slowly to limit the amount of dust going on the trees and fruit.

See you guys there

A friendly reminder to please drive slowly on the dirt road to the camp site. There are fruit trees along that road so please keep the dust to a minimum.

Due to a work commitment Im only able to drive through tomorrow morning.
Drive safe and will see everybody then

Yet another KBT has come and gone.
Andrew and I couldnt make it through the Friday evening so we had to make the drive through early in the morning. When we arrived they guys were ready to go...pity it was only 5am.

Soon enough we were on the water and heading to our spots. The field split more or less 50/50 up and down stream. The fishing wasnt on fire upstream but there was some fish coming out. Guys came and went from the top rapids but myself and Tolla hung around there for most of the day with bits of excitement now and then even if it was a carp :eusa_shifty:

I started kicking back down stream to maybe have a go at the other rapids But as I turned the corner I saw there were plenty guys there so I tried my luck fishing the grass. By the time I got back to the campsite it wasnt long until weigh in so I got off the water.

When I weighed my bag I was in first but I knew Andrew had a good bag still had to weigh in. It was always a matter of how far down I will slip down the leaderboard with guys like Michael, Gowi, Hendrik and Vaughn still to come to the scales.

Turns out I only dropped to 4th, well behind from the top3 but still pretty stoked with my best finish for the season.

Michael brought his A game and brought in a 3.87kg bag with a 2.01kg largie kicker, also bagging him the big fish prize. Andrew was in 2nd not far behind with 3.78kg and Vaughn in 3rd with a 3.36kg bag. Well done guys, those are some solid limits for the Breede.

A massive thank you to Jan who made his campsite available for us and for also manning the weigh station throughout the day.
Also thanks to Outdoors365, Southern Bass Culture and Suburban Fishing who sponsored prizes for the day, it is really appreciated.
